Wagner House Metal Ornaments

Recently we had the pleasure of supplying exterior metal ornaments for the Wagner house in Shiner, Texas. Our ornamental stampings, rosettes, garlands, molding and cresting were added to the home's original metal pieces to restore the exterior back to glory.

This home was built in 1895 by Julius and Emilie Wolters where they raised five children. Julius' grandfather, Jacob Wolters immigrated from Germany to Texas, which was still Mexico at the time, and fought in the Battle of the Alamo. He was a hero in the Battle of San Jacinto, and was awarded one of the first land grants in the new Republic of Texas.

In 1996, the Wagners bought the house from Julius Wolters' grandson. The Wagners fully restored the home, using each room as it was originally designed. In 1998 the formal parlor was renovated with W.F. Norman ceilings. The Wagners have beautifully maintained over 20 pieces of original decorative metal, including the zinc 1895 numbers shown on its exterior, and added more with this recent exterior renovation.
